ABOUT BAMBOO FIBER:
Bamboo does not require any pesticides or fertiliser when it’s being grown. And it grows quite fast!
Humans use millions of tons of plastic every year, and when we’ve finished with it we throw it away. It ends up in the ocean or in landfills, as a source of environmental pollution that threatens our health and the health of the planet. That’s why natural bamboo has the advantage.
Plastic can take between 100 and 1,000 years to completely break down. When plastic is immersed in water, it decomposes into smaller pieces of plastic, until they become what we call microplastics, so small as to be almost invisible. Fish and other marine animals must drink this plastic-infused water. They can also easily mistake plastic for food. They may starve to death. If they live, what they eat ends up in their flesh, so that when we eat them, it enters our bodies too. This is how plastic enters our food chain. Plastic can be toxic: it’s not meant to be eaten.
One solution to all this plastic pollution is bamboo. It’s organic, and vegan. Choose to buy or make things out of bamboo. Bamboo is compostable and biodegradable, because it’s completely natural plant material. Unlike plastic, bamboo does not contain potentially dangerous chemicals that can contaminate your body and the environment.
Bamboo is also naturally antibacterial.
