Nalbinding

Nalbinding is a Viking knitting technique. In fact it’s so old that it might have even been used by stone age people. It involves taking short pieces of yarn left over from weaving, and combining them into small, useful items like mittens, hats, socks, nets, sieves, and bags. When you knit like the Vikings, you use a single needle to pull the yarn through previous stitches. This makes thick, durable, warm goods with an important bonus – they don’t unravel the way knitted goods do!

Broom-stitching
