This useful non-electric thermometer can measure the temperature of your melted candle wax during candle-making. it can also measure the temperature of foodstuffs and drinks.
At Mill Cottage (the home of Craftsteading) we aim to use tools and equipment that don’t rely on electricity or batteries. Batteries cause pollution when they are manufactured, due to CO2 emissions. When used batteries are tossed into the trash, they end up in landfills where they decay and leak. As they corrode, their chemicals soak into soil and contaminate groundwater and surface water.
Electricity generation often causes degradation of the environment, too. Furthermore, during power blackouts, electrical appliances become useless.
So instead of using digital thermometers we use bimetal thermometers. Bimetal thermometers measure by thermal expansion. A bimetal thermometer uses a bi metal spring as temperature sensing element. This technology uses a coil spring made of two different types of metals, such as copper, steel, or brass, that are welded or fastened together.
Dial Size: 2.5cm / 0.98inch
Length: 13.5CM / 5.31inch
Accuracy: the measurement error is less than +-2 degrees
Material: stainless steel
Pointer thermometer, easy to carry, durable, easy to read temperature dial.
The temperature sensor is only in the probe part (about 1.5cm or 0.5in from the tip). It is not necessary to immerse the entire probe. The sensor is fully sealed, so will not be damaged by immersion in liquids. Please use it properly and take care of it.
